Step 1: Choose Your Nail Sizes
- Start by selecting the right size press-on nails for each of your fingers. They should fit perfectly from side to side without overlapping your natural nail.
- If needed, gently file the edges of the press-ons to customize the fit.
Step 2: Prepare Your Natural Nails
- Trim and file: Trim your natural nails to your preferred length and gently file them to create a smooth edge.
- Buff the surface: Lightly buff the surface of each nail to remove any natural shine. This helps the press-on nails adhere better.
- Push back cuticles: Use a cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles, ensuring a clean application area.
- Clean your nails: Wipe each nail with an alcohol wipe to remove any oils or dirt.
Step 3: Apply Nail Glue (if required)
- If the press-on nails don’t come with pre-applied adhesive, apply a small dot of nail glue to the center of your natural nail. You can also apply glue to the press-on nail for extra hold.
- Be sure not to use too much glue, as it may overflow when pressing the nail on.
Step 4: Attach the Press-On Nails
- Starting with your pinky finger, line up the press-on nail with your cuticle (the base of your natural nail).
- Press the nail down firmly, starting from the base and moving toward the tip to avoid air bubbles.
- Hold for 10–20 seconds to secure the bond.
Step 5: Repeat for All Nails
- Continue the process for each nail, working your way from one hand to the other.
- Be sure to work carefully to ensure each nail is aligned properly.
Step 6: Shape and File (Optional)
- Once all the nails are applied, gently file and shape the edges if needed for a smooth finish. You can use a nail file to adjust the length or shape of the nails to suit your preference.
Step 7: Avoid Water for a Few Hours
- To ensure your press-on nails last, avoid getting your hands wet for at least 1-2 hours after application. This helps the glue fully adhere.
Tips for Long-Lasting Results:
- Avoid soaking your nails in water for prolonged periods (e.g., dishwashing, swimming).
- Be gentle when using your hands to prevent the nails from lifting.
- Apply a top coat every few days to keep your press-on nails looking shiny and fresh.
With proper application, press-on nails can last up to 7–14 days.
